Lytz Vladimir Jean-Pierre "SAVLART"
Born in Port-au-Prince on November 2, 1983, raised in Jacmel with my mother. Pre-K through elementary school at Joseph Martin Henriquez. High school at College St Paul. My father died at the age of 46. His name was Joseph Jeanpierre, he was a musician and painter at the same time. He was known for the colors which he could bring to the Carnival of Jacmel. From him, I inherited my skills and he also taught me caligraphy. I work particularly in my own style which is sand on fabric and I think I am one of the first to use it. All my tables are made with sand, I also add a very small quantity of piguement (powder of mosaic) to the sand to achieve the desired color. I started painting at age 7, compared to my father who taught me like his apprentice. I did not learn painting, that comes naturally.
