Flavors of Haiti Fine Arts & Crafts Gallery, the only Haitian art gallery in the New York Metropolitan area, once again is very pleased to invite you to its Second Annual Mother's Day Art Exhibit Event. Every since last mother's day event, FOH has opened a Full-time Haitian art gallery in DUMBO, Brooklyn, New York. FOH has found a home for their Haitian art collection and the dream of sharing, promoting and expanding Haitian art in the very heart of New York City. The Opening reception of their fine arts and crafts gallery for the Second Annual will take place on May 11th at Fashion Boutique located on One Wall Street in Norwalk, CT. The event is slated to begin from 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Part of the proceed sales of the artwork will benefit organizations dedicated to supporting literacy and health care for underprivileged children in Haiti. On the 11th of May through June 10th, there is an opportunity to view some powerful collection of contemporary Haitian art portraying the every day life of Haitian people and creating a compelling contrast between Haitian and American society. All of the artwork is made by leading Haitian painters and sculptures. There is an opportunity to meet the artists and have a cocktail in the beautiful setting of Norwalk, CT. Artists

La Bataille de Vertieres A Group exhibition by: November 3, 2006 – December 3, 2006 Opening reception Thursday, November 2, 2006 5:30 – 8:30 pm Celebration and Haitian Rum tasting Saturday, November 18, 2006 2-6p.m. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brooklyn , NY, October 26, 2006 - Flavors of Haiti Fine Arts is pleased to present, "La Bataille de Vertieres," a group exhibition by five leading contemporary Haitian artists. An opening reception will take place on the evening of November 2, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Gallery 228 located on 111 Front Street in Dumbo, Brooklyn. In addition, there will be a celebration and Haitian Rum Tasting on Saturday, November 18, from 2 to 6 p.m . to commemorate the date the battle was fought. Part of the proceeds of the sale of artwork will benefit "La Maison des Petits", a foundation dedicated to supporting literacy and health care for underprivileged children in Haiti, and "Le Centre Culturel Foundation Boivert Jean Ulysse," which trains children to become artists and provides them health and education services. Commemorating one of the most historic battles for Haitian Freedom on November 18, 1803, these five artists depict the struggle of through various means. Materials found in Haiti such as recycled steel drums utilized to ship oil, to the more traditional paintings on canvas are all represented. Through creative expression and personal inspiration of the Battle of Vertieres, each artist narrarates and conceptualizes scenes of both victory and loss in his own way. Images and emotions represented are as relevant today of struggle and freedom as they were in 1803. All of the artwork is made by Haitian born painters and sculptors currently residing in Haiti.
